Fallen off the Wagon?? Here some helpful thoughts to get you back on track...

Sometimes we fall away from our routine, our training, ourselves as a whole. That can happen with sudden unexpected changes, illness, injury, just life happens.

We know that getting back into routine can be life saving, here are some tips and some things I want you to lean into if you are struggling with this.

Here are some helpful mental shift ideas to ease the transition and spark momentum:

1. “Start from where you are, not where you were.”

Let go of expectations rooted in past performance. Accept today’s baseline. Rebuilding starts with honesty and kindness.

2. “Small wins stack fast.”

Focus on consistency, not intensity. 20 minutes today beats waiting for the perfect hour tomorrow. Momentum is built through repetition, not perfection.

3. “Action precedes motivation.”

Don’t wait to feel inspired. Start moving—even a small step can change your mental state. Action generates motivation, not the other way around.

4. “Routine is rhythm, not restriction.”

Think of routine as a rhythm that supports you, not a rigid system you must obey. It brings ease, not pressure, when it aligns with your life.

5. “Discomfort is not a warning—it’s a sign of growth.”

The initial resistance you feel isn’t a red flag. It’s a natural part of shifting gears. Welcome the friction as part of the process.

6. “Focus on identity, not outcome.”

Instead of “I want to get fit,” try “I’m someone who trains daily.” Actions become easier when they align with your identity.

7. “Reset, don’t restart.”

You don’t need to scrap everything and begin again. Adjust, recalibrate, and continue. Every day is a new chance—not a redo, but a refinement.

8. “The goal is progress, not punishment.”

Be wary of slipping into a mindset of making up for lost time. Choose actions that move you forward with self-respect, not self-judgment.

9. “Motion creates clarity.”

When you feel stuck, doing something—anything—often clears the fog. The mind follows the body. Just start, and see what shifts.

10. “Reignite the why, not just the what.”

Reconnect with the deeper reason you started. Joy, freedom, strength, peace, adventure—whatever fuels you. Your ‘why’ gives your routine heart.
